What are Spirit Boxes?

Spirit Boxes are a new take on an old idea. Remember UNICEF boxes? They were abandoned in Canada and we’re bringing them back!   100% of the funds collected will be donated to the Wabano centre.

This year’s Spirit Boxes are blank, and ready for kids to decorate and design for Hallowe’en.  The artwork on the boxes will be reviewed and a winner chosen to have their artwork featured on next year’s boxes.

The campaign is currently run by a small group of volunteers.

Our plan

Our goal in 2019 aims to distribute Spirit Boxes to five to ten schools in the Ottawa-Carleton region. The collected funds will be used to make a donation to the Wabano centre in order to develop their community programs for children.

The long term plan is to have a fully operational independent charitable organization with a national presence. We believe that there will be stories to tell along the way and we look forward to sharing those stories with Canadians.
